Group visits
Whether you are a Brownie or Scout group, a U3A or Probus Club or a school holiday activity club, Catalyst offers discounted admission rates for groups of 10 or more.
Adult groups
Catalyst offers a unique package for adult groups, called Lifelong Learning which is ideal for U3A or Probus Clubs.
The price for this option is £9.95 per person and includes:
- Admission to all the galleries
- Tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival
- Illustrated talk of your choice in the Gossage Room or theatre
- Guided tour, including our Baker Gallery, the Gossage archive room and a peek into our archive collection.

For an additional cost, lunch can also be provided in our cafe with great views over the estuary and the Mersey Gateway Bridge. Please ask for details when making a booking.

Brownie, Scout or holiday activity groups
When you visit Catalyst for the day with your group you can explore the three interactive galleries, take part in a hands-on workshop or see a science show and play on the park outside. If you bring packed lunches then we have lockable cloakrooms where you can leave your coats and bags and we have a separate room where you can eat your lunches.
The prices for groups of 10 or more people are as follows:
Adult admission £8.45 per person
Child or Concession £6.95 per person
Workshops or science shows attract an additional charge.

Sleepovers
Why not visit with your group and sleepover in our 4th floor, glass-walled Observatory gallery? The package has been designed for groups of 20 or more up to a maximum of 40.
This package costs £38 per person and includes:
- Hot supper in the café (eg hot dog, giant cookie and a drink)
- Exclusive use of the three interactive galleries
- Sleepover in the Observatory gallery
- Breakfast served in the café (eg bacon roll and hot drink)
- A hands-on workshop in the Lab or Studios
- A science show in the Theatre
- A member of Catalyst staff on-site at all times

Catalyst Camp with a Difference
At Catalyst, we appreciate that you may be struggling to continue your usual activities with your uniformed group so we’ve come up with a way for you to take part in some fun activities in our Catalyst Camp with a Difference!
It’s a one hour, online, digital workshop where your group will have the opportunity to explore and discuss the science behind three, fun, camp activities – which meet the criteria for the science badge!
You choose the platform, whether it is Zoom, Teams or another, then invite us to join you at a specific time and we’ll deliver the hour long session. It’s as simple as that and it only costs £50!
Our activities have all been risk assessed and we’ll give you information to distribute to the parents or guardians in advance so they can have everything they need to hand when they join.
