The way we create buildings has not changed substantially in 40 years and needs a drastic overhaul if the construction sector is to deliver the buildings that the UK needs. Construction has a productivity gap with the rest of the economy and faces a skills crisis due to an ageing workforce. The sector also produces too many buildings that waste energy.

This talk will explain the problems facing the sector & how science and technology will be accelerated by an Industrial Strategy programme to more quickly build safer, healthier, and more affordable places to live and learn which also use dramatically less energy.
