Widnes SciBar @ the Hillcrest Hotel
Homo Sapiens
How did we get to where we are now?
Hillcrest Hotel, Cronton Lane
Widnes, WA8 9AR
7.30 pm, Wednesday 9th January 2019
Bob Roach, Friends of Catalyst
This is a topic that has long interested me. In the first of what will be a presentation over two meetings I will describe:-
- how our ancestors survived during the dinosaur era,
- the build-up of evidence that led to the ‘Out of Africa’ hypothesis, the favourite explanation for some time,
- the changes in physical characteristics of our ancestors & adaptations that they made to their ways of life.
The second meeting will look at some of the findings of recent years that have raised doubts about ‘Out of Africa’ & also the range of sources of evidence now available for such research.
Presented by the Friends of Catalyst and Catalyst Science Discovery Centre
