Free entry and workshops for adults living in Halton in receipt of Universal Credit

Make a Medicine, Build a Bridge, and Flex Your Science Skills!

People in receipt of Universal Credit (and their families) are invited to visit Catalyst FREE OF CHARGE on selected dates in September and October, funded by the British Science Association.

As part of the British Science Festival, we are offering free entry to the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre and Museum along with tickets to a hands-on workshop exploring topics such as “How Bridges Work” and “What Is Medicine?” for residents of Halton in receipt of Universal Credit.

Visit our heritage gallery and archive collection, and discover more about the buildings and bridges in our local community.

If that’s not enough, you can explore the Interactive Gallery with a host of hands-on exhibits or learn about the history of the local area in our Birth of an Industry and Baker Galleries. You can marvel at the 360 degree views from our glass-walled rooftop Observatory Gallery where you can see many of the local buildings and bridges!

Of course, you can also browse the museum shop or stop for a tasty snack or drink from the Catalyst Café whilst admiring the views of Spike Island and the Mersey Gateway Bridge!

Eligible dates are:

  • Saturday 13th September features the workshop “Building Bridges”
  • Saturday 20th September features the workshop “Making a Medicine”
  • Saturday 27th September features the workshop “Destination Space”
  • Saturday 4th October features the workshop “Elements in Action”
