Maths Week for KS3   9th – 12th October 2018
Use our unique selection of maths equipment for an hour of puzzles, games and problem solving.

For an additional teamwork challenge, book our Towering Tetrahedron workshop to build a room filling tetrahedron.

National RSC Chemistry Week for KS1 – KS4  20th – 23rd November 2018
A week celebrating chemistry, in which pupils at all levels get a chance to try out being a chemist in one of our workshops, Choose from Soap Suds (KS1), Being a Scientist (KS2), Fantastic Plastic (KS3) and Showering with Surfactants (KS3/4)
£40 or £50 per session + admission

Bridges to Schools for KS2 and KS3
A Inspired by the new Mersey Gateway Bridge, close to Catalyst, your pupils will learn about cable-stayed bridges. They will take on roles as engineers and need to work as a team to construct their very own 13m cable stayed bridge. Will they be brave enough to try walking across it when it’s complete?
This workshop is supported by the NW Institution of Civil Engineers.

Materials Shows
Introductory Solids, Liquids and Gases for KS1
Pupils see some exciting and unfamiliar solids, liquids and gases with emphasis on ‘wow’ science and spectacular demonstrations.
Solids, Liquids and Gases for Years 3 and 4
Pupils learn about different properties of materials in this spectacular show using liquid nitrogen and solid carbon dioxide.
Crazy Changes for Years 5 and 6
This explosive show follows on from Solids, Liquids and Gases to explain reversible and irreversible changes by heating, cooling, burning and mixing.
Flash Bang – What a Reaction! for KS3
An explosive, states of matter and chemical reactions show with demonstrations using explosions, burning, colour changes and gas!
Shows are available on the following dates:
4th – 7th December 2018, 7th, 8th and 12th – 15th March 2019 and 11th – 12th July 2019.
