Maths Week for KS3   10th – 13th October 2017
Use our unique selection of maths equipment for an hour of puzzles, games and problem solving.

For an additional teamwork challenge, book our Towering Tetrahedron workshop to build a room filling tetrahedron.

National RSC Chemistry Week for KS1 – KS4  21st – 24th November 2017
A week celebrating chemistry, in which pupils at all levels get a chance to try out being a chemist in one of our workshops, Choose from Soap Suds (KS1), Investigating Science Skills (KS2), Fantastic Plastic (KS3) and Showering with Surfactants (KS3/4)
£40 or £50 per session + admission

Materials Shows
Introductory Solids, Liquids and Gases for KS1
Pupils see some exciting and unfamiliar solids, liquids and gases with emphasis on ‘wow’ science and spectacular demonstrations.
Solids, Liquids and Gases for Years 3 and 4
Pupils learn about different properties of materials in this spectacular show using liquid nitrogen and solid carbon dioxide.
Crazy Changes for Years 5 and 6
This explosive show follows on from Solids, Liquids and Gases to explain reversible and irreversible changes by heating, cooling, burning and mixing.
Shows are available on the following dates:
5th – 8th December 2017, 13th – 16th March 2018 and 3rd – 6th July 2018.

Flash Bang – What a Reaction! for KS3  8th – 9th March 2018
An explosive, states of matter and chemical reactions show with demonstrations using explosions, burning, colour changes and gas!

Outbreak! for years 6 and 7  22nd and 23rd May 2018
Following the aftermath of a meteorite strike, a strange new disease has arisen in the local area. Can your pupils investigate collaboratively to seek answers and save the day? Bursting with science experiments, this 3 hour special experience will challenge and excite your class as they take on the role of scientists in this open ended workshop.
£10 per pupil including admission, presentation and workshops. Minimum cost of £300 applies

Chemistry at Work Week for KS3  26th – 29th June 2018
Chemistry at Work returns to enthuse and excite all who visit. It’s an amazing opportunity for pupils to put the science they learn in the classroom into context within their everday lives by taking part in fun, STEM related activities provided by companies such as BASF, SSE and Inovyn.

Supported by the Royal Society of Chemistry, this event is free to attend and in some cases we can offer transport bursaries. Please contact Catalyst to see whether you are eligible.
