The Great Moon Hoax

Hillcrest Hotel, Cronton Lane
Widnes, WA8 9AR
7.30 pm, Wednesday 11th September 2019

Steve Barrett, Senior Research Fellow
Physics Dept, University of Liverpool

As part of the recent coverage of the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, long standing claims that the moon landings were a hoax were featured,

These included:-

  • the computing power available was insufficient to guide a spaceship to the Moon
  • radiation in space would kill astronauts
  • videos and photos are false and were produced on Earth, e.g. the position of shadows,

Steve will take a scientific approach to the claims to find evidence for and against them. As an expert in the analysis of images, he will pay particular attention to what can be learned from them.
